{kite flying at the park}

Last Friday when I got home from work we headed over to the park to do some kite flying, or at least we tried to :) It was probably a little too windy for kite flying or maybe it was our lack of experience because we couldn't keep it up in the air for more then a few minutes before it would come crashing down in a nose dive! A few times it came close to taking one of us out!! LOL

Cayla wasn't interested in the kite, instead she made a beeline for the park!

We all took turns, even I got it up in the air a few times. Alyssa was by far the best at it.

We instructed her to run as soon as Daddy threw the kite in the air. It was fun to watch her, all the while she was laughing so hard she could barely stand up! To say she had a blast is an understatement!

Cayla was content to stay out of way and enjoy some time at the park.

As Jason said, it was the best $5 he has ever spent! We got out for some fresh air and had a blast with the girls!

For editing my photos I used two different photo effects, CoffeeShop Little Perk and Butterscotch Vintage from Coffee Tea Photography. I love using these effects! I rarely do any further editing after applying one!

Thanks for looking!

photo editing tips

Yesterday I came across this post called "Sometimes You Can" on The Daily Digi blog. One of my new fav blogs to check out! The post is about editing an awesome shot of her son, but just happens to also be a bad pic due to lighting...go check it out.

Anyway, I couldn't believe the difference from the original picture to what she ended up with! Little did I know that today I would take a few pictures that could benefit from the photo tips listed. I followed exactly what she said and it worked like a charm! Granted the photos still aren't the best technically and wouldn't look great blown up, but are perfect because I captured the moment and that's what it's all about :)

In her post she mentions Noiseware, a program to reduce the noise in your photo. Noise is caused my too high of an ISO or when a picture is underexposed. I get a lot of these when taking pics in the house on dark days. The free program she recommended works like a charm! I plan on running it on some older photos of mine where they are just too noisy :) Who ever thought a photo could be noisy...LOL

To show you just how great her tips and the program work, here are my originals, before noise and after noise photos. I am sure Alyssa won't be so happy that I was able to correct the first photo :)
