I know fall is in the air because I am in the mood to bake! There is something about the change in
temperature that makes me want to bake cookies, cakes, pies, etc! Which is not good for the weight loss, but oh so very tasty and hard to resist :)
The need to bake today was so strong that I had to go out and get the ingredients needed!!

Which meant walking to
Sobeys and Home Hardware!! Jason was at a job interview, so it was just us girls today. I won't even tell you how much I paid for the mini muffin tin!! I believe I got ripped off, but it was the last one and there wasn't another store close enough to go do a price check, so I bought it! The
Reese peanut butter
miniatures were on sale and I already had the cookie dough at home; which I also got on sale a week or so ago! So it wasn't all bad.
I first heard about Peanut Butter Hide-Aways from my friend Jen. Check out
Jen's blog for the recipe she used, as she made her own peanut butter cookie dough and included step by step instructions. This is the second time that she has posted a recipe that I've just had to make!! Although, each time it has
involved me buying new stuff!! But each time it has been SO worth it!! Thanks Jen for sharing!
They were super easy to make and oh so yummy!! If you're a chocolate and peanut butter fan than you'll LOVE these!! Because seriously these two
ingredients are meant to go together :)
Because I used the
premade cookie dough, my steps were a bit different. I used a 1 tbsp measuring spoon to scoop the cookie dough. This was perfect as it gave me the right amount of dough. I rolled it into a ball and placed into my mini muffin tin.
While I was doing that, Alyssa was unwrapping the peanut butter cups. She did an amazing job too! Just look at the concentration on her face! The wrapping went in one pile while the cups went into a bowl.

I thought it was funny how she neatly stacked every single one of them into piles! Can you tell that she loves to
separate things into piles :)

The cookies bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. As soon as they came out of the oven you press a peanut butter cup in the middle. As it cools the cookie deflates and forms a tart shell around the peanut butter cup.
Don't these just look so tasty? I let them cool for about 10 minutes before trying one and oh boy was it good right out of the oven!!! The recipe says it makes 36 cookies, but I only got 24; which worked out perfectly as that's how many the tin held and was the right amount for one package of peanut butter cups, as I let Alyssa eat one because it was broken, so I had just the right amount left over :)
While we were baking Cayla was watching
Yo Gabba Gabba on
Treehouse TV all the while chewing on a book! Her teeth continue to bother her and keep her up at night!! I really miss sleeping through the night! I knew I was lucky before with her and how good of a sleeper she was, so now after about a month and a half of her waking up at least twice a night, I really miss my sleep!! Yet, I still go to bed way too late!! I guess I like to punish myself :)
