day 221 - future project lifer

A couple weeks ago I received my Project Life: Clementine edition core kit. YAY!! It's been a long wait, but for me it's not as if I was waiting for it to actually start my Project Life album!

Even though I am a digi scrapbooker, I do still love to dabble in creating some project with paper! I plan to use these cards to create a family history album!! Something I have been planning on doing for years! I have the idea in my head, I just need to make it happen!
When I opened the box of goodies, Alyssa was right there wanting to see! She couldn't wait to get her hands on all the paper! (Sigh!) She sat there for more than 10 minutes looking through all the designs, commenting on the ones she liked and continually asking if she could have some of the cards!

day 40 - my big announcement

Have you heard? I am one of the newest members of Becky's Project Life Creative Team!!!
When I came home on Tuesday, January 31 I went to check email before starting dinner.

I was in shock to see an email from Becky Higgins in my inbox!!! I just told her the other day that I am still not use to seeing emails from her yet :) LOL

Once I got over the initial shock that a woman I have been following for years, who is the reason I even bought the Creating Keepsakes magazine to begin with and who I have admired for years was sending me an email, I then opened it to read what she had to say.

I was completely and utterly shocked when I read that she wanted me to be on her Creative Team!!! This could not be happening to me!!

I have been blessed with so many wonderful opportunities, but this one was like the icing on the cake. To have someone like Becky say that she admires what you’re doing is BIG!! Here I was, just doing my thing, documenting the life of my family and enjoying a hobby that I truly believe in.

All I could think was, how is this happening to me?!?

Jason was the first person I told. He joked with me and said, “Who is Becky Higgins?” Of course he knows exactly who she is, because for the past 10 years I’ve probably mentioned her name a thousand times and shown him at least a hundred layouts using one of Becky’s sketches. He got how big this was and how much it meant to me.

I had to keep it a secret for just over a week, but than today she announced it on her blog.

I am so excited and so very blessed for this opportunity :)

day 22 - almost ready for print

For the last couple weeks I've been taking every opportunity to work on my weekly layouts from 2011. I've been staying up to midnight some nights working on them!! All the hard work has paid off because now all my weekly layouts are done!!

If I hadn't kept my blog updated, spent time putting the photos into the templates as I went along, or kept some items consistent on each layout, I would still be working on finishing! As I finished each week, I would upload the pages to the book I created through blurb.com. This is my book earlier in the day, after uploading my November layouts.  My week 52 is in progress on my second monitor! Which by the way, I love having a second monitor!! I honestly don't know how I accomplished anything before!! So nice having my layout on one and my supplies or photos open on the other!! Love it!!
I haven't clicked print quite yet. I have a few last minute things to finish before I do. Can't wait!

This is my second time finishing a photo-a-day book and the excitement of seeing all my photos in one place like this is still as rewarding as the first time! I love how all my weekly layouts have come together and how the book has a nice flow to the design of each page. I am very proud of this book and all the memories that I've preserved in it!! I am excited for my girls and hubby to see it! This book wouldn't be possible without them, not just from the photo/memories aspect of things, but the fact that they've allowed me time to create all these wonderful layouts! For the last month or so, each night after the girls went to bed, I headed to the basement to work on them. Some nights I would still be down here at midnight, not realizing what time it was and that I had to get up the next day for work! My plan this year is not to let myself get so far behind!

project life weekly layouts

For those who read this blog and don't know I have a separate blog for all my digi scrapbooking, than you'll want to pop over to Sheri Mae Designs.

I have been posting all my 2011 weekly layouts there. And just a few minutes ago I posted my week one layout from 2012!!

I am very close to finishing my 2011 album and it'll hopefully be sent off to print through Blurb.com this week! Which means I can now start focusing on my weekly layouts for 2012!
